Working in the dashboard

Content managers

Write, preview, translate, review and publish content in the dashboard, and find the work waiting for you.

  • The shell

Every screen of a project in the Quillet dashboard sits in one frame, the shell: a header across the top, section tabs under it, a panel on the left where a section needs one, and a page bar above the work.

  • Writing a document

Write a Markdown document in the dashboard's Visual editor or in its Source, put pictures in from the media library, and save each change as a version that readers do not see until you publish it.

  • Pages and preview

Edit a page's fields and blocks in the dashboard, watch Content preview draw it as you type, and open the saved draft on your real website before anybody else can see it.

  • Media

Upload files to the project's media library, file them in folders, preview them at full size, choose who can open each one, and see which documents use a file before you change or delete it.

  • Translations and review

Translate a document into another locale in the dashboard, see which fields still fall back to the default locale, and mark a translation reviewed once you have checked it against its source.

  • Publishing and history

Publish a document from the dashboard after reading what else the publish changes, take it down again with Unpublish, and use History to read, compare and restore any earlier version.

  • Finding work

Find any document in an environment from the content index, and find what is unfinished with its four work views: unpublished changes, missing translations, partial translations and translations that need review.

  • When two people edit

When someone else saves a document while you are editing it, the dashboard refuses to overwrite their work and offers two ways on: reload their version, or compare both sides and save a result that keeps what each of you wrote.

  • Your account

Your Quillet account is you in every project you belong to: this guide covers how you sign in, what the Account page holds, and when a content manager needs a personal token.
